Anomaly Miniskirt Robo Debate

This week Angela and I chatted over lunch about corpse eating robots. Yeah...over lunch. Yum. :)

This point counterpoint debate tied the Firefly: Shindig topic in our listener poll, so we decided to do an episode on both and we had a ball doing so.

The stances that we took in this miniskirt episode don't necessarily reflect our actual view points, but we had fun making up reasons to either support or oppose the manufacturing of autonomous killing machines.

My position was that Science Fiction has warned the dangers of robot armies. Most of the time, said robots turn on their masters. Ummm, hello??? Hasn't anyone watched The Terminator, Battlestar Galactica, THX1148, I-Robot, 2001, A Space Odyssey, Westworld or Star Trek The Motion Picture (V-Ger)?

Angela's opinion in this episode, is that these machines are being created to save human lives and that as long as there are humans making the decisions, rather than the robots thinking for themselves, everything should be rainbows and lollipops. ;)

It was a short and sweet debate followed by an awesome song called: The Humans Are Dead. You should rush out and buy every song Flight Of The Conchords has recorded/filmed...oh, and be wary of robots that eat organic.
