What's Up, Anoma-llamas?

Hello, I'm KC. I know the answer to life, the universe, and everything... and it is 42. And I am an Anomaly.

I will have to make an admission here and now: I was not always the geek that I am now. Like Darth Vader, I was on a path to the dark side, but nothing truly caught my attention. Sadly, not even my beloved "Firefly" could bring me to this point--I still thought of it as an awesome show that did not deserve to get canceled, but it did not manage to make me acknowledge my geeky half. Luckily, in January 2008, I encountered what finally brought me out of this repression of nerdiness. This entity, my fellow anomalies, was a little show called "Doctor Who" featuring David Tennant as the 10th Doctor. And I have never looked back.

Since then, I have been catching up on what I have missed out on in geekdom, such as all Joss Whedon's ventures in television, Star Trek: TNG, completing the original Star Wars trilogy, beginning Harry Potter, etc. I have begun to enjoy reading again after a long recess, and I'm currently working my way through the Song of Ice and Fire series by George R.R. Martin. However, I do not read as fast as Margaret does, so that may take me a while. There are some things that I have not been able to master (namely video games), or popular crazes that I don't completely understand (i.e. manga and Twilight), but I do try.

I've been a personal friend of Angela's for a few years and met Jen through her. I also guest hosted with Gerald on "The Anomaly of the Star Wars Holiday Special" during which we all busted out some Queen and attempted to translate the Wookie dialect. I have my own blog at KC Geek Chic, where I post monthly--or at least I try to--about silly, geeky things such as reviews, random thoughts on geek culture, the occasional blogcast, and anything else that I can muster to think of.

For Anomalous Musings, you can expect some of the following articles from me:

Revenge of the Newb: The Quests of a Non-Gaming Geek

Master Class: Profiles on the Works of Accomplished Genre Actors and Actresses

Fan-Made: Favorite Pieces of Fiction, Art, Music, and Videos Made by Fans for Fans

You might also esee some book reviews (a popular choice here at AM) and film/television commentary (also an irristable topic). I tend to be very random and silly in terms of writing, so I hope that you enjoy that aspect of it. Think of my blogs as you would while reading a Monty Python or Joss Whedon script. You know, minus parrots and likeable characters dying.

Good for you KC. Even though I hate reading the written word It's thanks to you and Jen I will tolerate it as long as it's subject is geeky in nature... wouldn't hurt to throw in a couple of priest and a rabbi jokes into your next blog.

A priest, a rabbi, and a blond walk into a bar. The barman says "What is this, a joke?

Ha, ha! Get it! It's Gold I tell ya! Use it... :D
