Fighting many fits of giggles, Kasey and Sue finish up their series on "Slings & Arrows" by discussing the third and final season, which revolved around the New Burbage Theater Festival's production of "King Lear." Hail, Anomalies and Singularities! The battle of the feed has been won, and we shall celebrate with part two of three of Anomaly Supplemental on "Slings and Arrows." If you have not seen season two yet, this is a warning that Sue and I go more in depth and spoilers do occur in this episode. If you have not seen season one yet, not only do spoilers occur for season's one and two, but you are missing out on some fantastic story-telling.

Here is a brief summary of the plot...

Season two of "Slings and Arrows" revisits the New Burbage Theatre Company and its eccentric Artistic Director, Geoffrey Tennant (Paul Gross). "Hamlet" is closing, and it's time to prepare for the next season. While Geoffrey already has something in mind, it seems that outside forces have other plans and he is given the task of directing Shakespeare's bloody and cursed classic many theatre vets call "The Scottish Play." Others may know it as... "Macbeth." (You have no idea how difficult it was for me to type that.) Due to the supernatural nature of the show and his own obsession with it, the ghostly Oliver (Stephen Ouimette) returns to haunt Geoffrey for the opportunity to collaborate on a project that is about to be overrun with big-headed actors, the worst advertising campaign in history, and romantic tension between Geoffrey and leading lady Ellen Fanshaw (Martha Burns).

Anomaly Supplemental: Slings and Arrows, Act I

My name is KC, and I'm neither Jen nor Angela, but I am an Anomaly.

This is our very first installment of our special project, Anomaly Supplemental, in which Sue and I discuss the first season of the fantastic Canadian series "Slings and Arrows." We talk about the first few episodes of the series, actors we recognize from other works, the inspiration for the plot and characters, and basically have a geek out of Shakespearean proportions. While the show doesn't showcase any sort of science fiction or fantasy element , we feel that this is a show that geeks would enjoy as it features a different sect of fandom.

If you are interested in learning more about "Slings and Arrows", listen to our podcast to get the basic rundown. The series is available for streaming on Netflix, or you can purchase the DVDs and/or downloadable episodes through Amazon or Amazon.co.uk. Each season is only six episodes long, and easily marathon-able. It should be noted that this series does contain strong adult language and content, so the little ones (i.e., Anomalies-in-training) might need to sit out on this one.
